Stomach discomfort

The stomach is one of the most important organs of man, which ensures the functioning of the whole organism.

Failure of the gastrointestinal tract is accompanied by very unpleasant uncomfortable symptoms, pain and dysfunction.

The causes of indigestion can be very diverse, from malnutrition to neurosis, respectively, both treatment methods and timing differ.

The issue of eliminating indigestion concerns, from time to time, almost every person.

What is indigestion

Gluttony - the path to indigestion

The work of the gastrointestinal tract, in which the stomach plays the main role, ensures the full functioning of the whole organism.

A number of factors, such as alcohol, smoking, spicy, fatty, sour foods, stress, neurosis, improper eating, lead to an upset stomach.

Dyspepsia (indigestion) is an ailment that occurs as a result of improper eating, often overeating and overloading the stomach, which leads to the appearance of unpleasant pain symptoms.

Indigestion does not belong to the disease, but it can serve as a clear signal in the development of pathologies and lead to the appearance of chronic diseases. This problem is eliminated very easily, even by folk remedies, recovery occurs soon even in children.

The disease can be accompanied by extremely unpleasant symptoms, which can lead to irreversible consequences. The main negative manifestation is discomfort, pain in the stomach, spasmodic, sometimes unbearable, occurring during eating, so for no reason.

The appearance of the patient is also accompanied by physical changes - weight loss, dry skin, pale yellow complexion, sudden aging, hair loss. In physical condition, the patient also experiences discomfort, flatulence, diarrhea, sometimes not controlled, constipation, belching, hiccups.

As a result of such symptoms, a person loses the possibility of a full life, nutrition, development, if it is a child.

Causes of occurrence

The main factors causing dyspepsia include:

  • excessive eating, causing overload in the stomach
  • unusual food intake, change of food assortment
  • malfunction of gastric motility
  • H. pylori infection
  • irregular eating
  • spicy, sour, fried foods
  • medicines, especially antibiotics
  • neurosis, stress, excessive emotions
  • alcohol and energy abuse
  • smoking
  • the process of rapid absorption of food can lead to the fact that ea is already eaten, and saliva and gastric juice have not yet had time to stand out, which leads to indigestion
  • stresses leading to increased blood circulation, frequent breathing and muscle spasm of the stomach, resulting in its dysfunction
  • exercise soon after eating
  • open sores
  • pancreatitis
  • hepatitis
  • strong and prolonged hypothermia
  • raw foods
  • drinking cold water
  • diet and fasting
  • wrong "fasting days"
  • prolapse of the stomach or intestines
  • long-term medication
  • salmonellosis
  • symptom of malabsorption

In the case of regular repetitions of symptoms of indigestion, immediate medical diagnosis is necessary, as they can be caused by an ulcer, gastritis, dyskinesia, benign or malignant tumor.

The characteristic symptoms of the disease

Symptoms of dyspepsia are very characteristic and pronounced, bring unpleasant and painful sensations that bring serious discomfort:

  • heaviness in the stomach, which leads to increased heart rate and shortness of breath
  • burning in the stomach and esophagus
  • frequent belching with an unpleasant odor
  • flatulence
  • hiccups
  • feeling nauseous
  • constipation or diarrhea
  • bloating
  • pain in the stomach
  • lack or loss of appetite
  • constipation
  • periodic pain in the solar plexus
  • temperature below 36.6
  • “cold sweat” often appears on the body
  • the appearance of a white coating on the tongue
  • skin is pale, dry and peeling
  • hair begins to fall out
  • the appearance of the effect of "rapid aging"

Children are more painful to tolerate the disease, it can be accompanied by fever, vomiting, weakness.

Symptoms can occur during eating, physical exertion, nervous tension, and regardless of any factors.

Discomfort is an unpleasant sensation characterized not by pain, but by other symptoms: severity, overcrowding.

The feeling of satiety is manifested in the instant satisfaction of hunger with a minimum amount of food, as a result of which a person does not eat the amount of food necessary for the body.

Symptoms of indigestion are not associated with impaired bowel function. Dyspepsia can manifest itself as a functional disorder or as a result of damage to the organs of the gastrointestinal tract.

If these symptoms occur, treatment should be started immediately.

You should follow a diet, switch to diet food, give up fried, smoked, salty and spicy foods, give up smoking and alcohol.

It is advisable to eat boiled meat, non-rich soups, vegetables cooked in a double boiler.

Do not drink carbonated drinks with dyes, coffee, cocoa. With the manifestation of stable and strong indigestion, eat breadcrumbs and unsweetened tea.

Diagnose a problem

After the manifestation of the relevant symptoms, you must consult a doctor for the purpose of medical diagnosis and clarification of the causes of the disease, which can be carried out in the following areas:

  • general blood test
  • FEGDS - study of the walls of the stomach with an endoscope, in order to exclude the presence of ulcers, tumors, GERD)
  • H. pylori testing
  • ultrasound examination of the liver, bile, pancreas, thyroid gland
  • intragastric N-metry
  • analysis of feces for the presence of blood secretions

The examination will establish the true causes of the manifestation of specific symptoms and discomfort in the stomach and prescribe the appropriate treatment.

If the diagnosis did not reveal the causes of the disease, a diagnosis of functional dyspepsia caused by specific factors and having many complaints is made.

Organic dyspepsia, in turn, is a consequence of chronic diseases and pathologies and may not manifest itself for a long time.

Which doctors should I contact

At the appointment with a gastroenterologist

Indigestion and treatment of the problem - issues are very relevant.

Initially, you need to contact a therapist, who, depending on complaints, will refer to the appropriate specialist: gastroenterologist, oncologist.

In the event that the problem is caused by stress, a neurologist consultation is appointed.

It is important to consult a doctor in a timely manner, immediately after the appearance of the corresponding symptoms: loss of appetite, weight loss, diarrhea, vomiting.

Lack of timely treatment can lead to exhaustion, anorexia, anemia, the development of cancer and death.

Dyspepsia Treatment

Diagnosis is aimed at identifying the causes of the disease and their elimination. Before the diagnosis is necessary:

  • follow a diet, avoid smoking, alcohol and soda,
  • try not to be nervous
  • spending time outdoors and playing sports
  • if the cause of the disease is infection, carry out therapy aimed at its destruction

In order to relieve symptoms, antisectoral drugs, inhibitors, stimulants, analgesics are used. Antacids are recommended, they will be used 4 times a day, if the manifestations of the problem continue, additional treatment is necessary.

The success of treatment depends on the patient’s self-hypnosis, since in 60% of patients the disease is caused by a neuropsychic disorder. Therefore, in addition to the main drugs, antidepressants are prescribed under the supervision of a psychotherapist or neurologist.

Drug treatment

Self-medication treatment of dyspepsia can not only not help, but also harm the patient.

Therefore, for proper therapy, it is better to consult a doctor and after taking the medicine.

As a rule, with an appropriate diagnosis, which is not based on a chronic disease or pathology, the following medications are prescribed:

  • Mezim Fotre or Festal, tablets, based on which there is an enzyme necessary for the full functioning of the stomach and pancreas. They are used when stopping the work of the stomach, stagnation of food or before taking it in order to improve digestion. The drug is used even by absolutely healthy people, for example, before a banquet, for the regulation of digestion. It is recommended to combine tablets with a fortified complex, sorbents such as enterosgel, activated carbon, as well as bacterial elements such as yogurt, lactovit, starter cultures.
  • Imodium, the drug allows you to get rid of diarrhea, dissolves in the mouth in 2 seconds and is already beginning to act. They stop diarrhea and can be used to treat both adults and children.
  • Linex is a probiotic drug. With its help, dysbiosis in the stomach and intestines is eliminated. It consists of lactic acid bacteria, which are aimed at stabilizing the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract. Creating an acidic environment in the tract, the digestion process is stabilized and the natural balance is restored.
  • Bifidumbacterin - a drug that can be taken even by newborns, is aimed at stabilizing the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract. It contains a large number of active bifidobacteria capable of activating the functions of the tract, the process of metabolism and digestion, and removes toxic substances. The drug acts against colibacillus, staphylococci, fungi and other gastric problems. Indigestion and treatment with tablets has a positive effect, but it is advisable to supplement it with folk remedies.

Treatment with folk remedies

Indigestion: treatment with folk remedies is considered one of the most effective, simple and budgetary methods in comparison with medicines.

For a long time, stomach treatment was carried out with the help of herbs, while having a quick recovery and no side effects.

The balance of substances was quickly restored, and the body began to function fully.

It is worth considering that folk remedies have not only restorative functions, but also have the ability to relieve spasms and pain.

The most effective folk remedies include:

  • Ginger, chewing the root in pure form or in the form of a brewed tea broth (1 teaspoon per glass of boiling water, leave for about 10 minutes, strain and consume). Soon the restless symptoms will go away.
  • Chamomile is medicinal, has the property of muscle relaxation, relieving spasm, in addition, it has an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and sedative effect (pour a tablespoon of chamomile flowers in a glass of boiling water, insist, strain, dilute with a liter of water and take three times a day 30 minutes before meals). Recommended for use even by newborns.
  • Peppermint has antispasmodic and carminative qualities. Recommended for use after meals. It is possible to use in pure form for chewing or brewing tea and accepting as a decoction.
  • Dill, caraway seeds are taken in seed form during the use of food difficult for digestion, 1 teaspoon three times a day. Seed essential oils help relieve cramps and improve the digestive effect. For children, the dose is 0.5 teaspoon of seeds.
  • With severe diarrhea, a decoction of caraway seeds, dill and anise is recommended, which is poured with boiling water, insisted, filtered and consumed several times a day before meals. Treatment lasts until the problem is resolved.
  • Baking soda, an excellent tool that can remove heartburn, eliminate burning sensation, neutralizing acidity in the stomach. For therapeutic purposes, it is necessary to dilute a teaspoon in a glass of warm water and drink the solution. In order to avoid the formation of gas in the stomach and belching, it is necessary to add a couple of drops of lemon juice to the solution. Children under 12 years of age are not recommended.
  • Apple cider vinegar, a budgetary product, recommended for use after consuming a large amount of food or alcohol. Dissolve a teaspoon in 0.5 cups of water. To improve the taste, you can add honey.
  • Wormwood herb is able to stabilize and enhance appetite, normalize digestion, eliminating symptoms. A few tablespoons of wormwood, pour boiling water, cool, strain, take a glass after a meal. Do not give to children.

The treatment of dyspepsia must be accompanied by a diet and proper nutrition, which will provide the maximum healing effect.

The diet is formed in such a way as to provide proper treatment and eliminate the causes of indigestion. At the same time, there are generally accepted rules recommended for all potentially and chronically ill patients:

  • heavy dinners not allowed
  • fasting is prohibited
  • do not interrupt or distract while eating
  • frequent and fractional nutrition
  • lack of stress
  • necessarily liquid food for lunch: soup, broth
  • food should not be hot or cold
  • do not eat yeast, freshly squeezed juices, fats

It is necessary to exclude coffee, cocoa, sparkling water, dyes, preservatives, artificial food additives. Food should be freshly prepared, natural. Alcohol, tobacco is strictly prohibited.

How to prevent recurrent dyspepsia

Indigestion is one of the most common diseases of our time. Various reasons lead to this result: life dynamics, lack of regularity of nutrition, stress, fast food and other causes lead to the development of indigestion.

Fast food lovers who are at risk, as well as alcohol lovers and smokers make up a special category.

Indigestion is an urgent problem in modern society, caused by various factors, both nutritional and psychological, the influence of which is easier to reduce, eliminate than treat the consequences.

Stomach stop is a temporary disruption of the organ, which can be triggered by a number of reasons: an infectious process, somatic disease or overeating. Indigestion is especially dangerous for young children, as they quickly develop dehydration, which requires urgent medical attention.

Violation of the motor function of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract is accompanied by unpleasant symptoms, which are often associated with the causes of the disease.

  1. Food poisoning (the use of low-quality products that have an expired shelf life or were stored without observing the rules). In such food, bacteria multiply abundantly and release their toxins, which adversely affect the motility of the stomach and intestines.
  2. Acute intestinal infections. Most often they suffer from children, in the body of which bacteria enter through contaminated hands, water or food. The children's body quickly responds to infection by the appearance of repeated vomiting and diarrhea against the background of intoxication.
  3. Binge eating. The use of a large amount of fatty, spicy foods, fast food can lead to a “stop" of the stomach.
  4. Exacerbation of chronic gastritis or peptic ulcer, in which not only the mucous membrane of the organ is affected, but also its work is disrupted (digestion and absorption of food).
  5. Functional dyspepsia. This is an inorganic pathology, which is a consequence of stress, malnutrition.
  6. The postoperative period after surgery on the stomach.

In childhood, in addition to intestinal infections, disruption of the stomach is a consequence of acetonemic syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Frequent vomiting and regurgitation in infants can be a manifestation of pylorospasm (temporary and sudden reduction of the pyloric sphincter) or pyloric stenosis (congenital organic narrowing of the pyloric part of the stomach, which interferes with the normal passage of milk).

Symptoms of what the stomach costs are aching pains in the upper abdomen, nausea and repeated vomiting. The patient takes a forced position, holds his hands on his stomach, tries to lie on his side. If the reason for stopping the infectious process, the patient's body temperature rises, chills appear, and appetite worsens significantly.

  • constant or periodic pain of aching nature,
  • nausea and vomiting,
  • discomfort, a feeling of heaviness in the stomach,
  • stool disorder is possible
  • a feeling of fullness even in the absence of nutrition.

In infants, frequent profuse regurgitation or vomiting of a fountain appears, and appetite and body weight decrease. The child becomes restless, often cries.

Intestinal infections occur with fever, frequent vomiting, acute abdominal pain and often diarrhea. Such patients complain of severe weakness, lack of appetite. It is important to consult a doctor on time and start receiving appropriate treatment.

Where it hurts if the stomach stops: as a rule, pain is localized in the upper left half of the abdomen, epigastric region.

Clinical picture

Digestive problems in adults differ from those in infants in a great variety. The completeness of the clinical picture in dyspepsia depends on the scale of temporary pathological phenomena. In case of violation of one organ, indigestion in the form of manifesting symptoms quickly passes. When several organs are included in the pathological process, the clinical picture becomes brighter and longer in time.

Dyspepsia in clinical manifestations has three main signs:

  • pain syndrome,
  • discomfort in the epigastric region,
  • bloating in the stomach
  • a feeling of fullness even after a small amount of food eaten,
  • the urge to vomit.

Pain in the epigastric region is temporary, recurring. The patient connects their beginning with hunger and at night. After eating a small amount of food, the pain usually subsides. Antacids also contribute to the rapid relief of pain.

After prolonged psychoemotional stresses, a person may feel heartburn, periodic belching with a sour taste in the mouth, aching pain and burning in the sternum, flatulence and vomiting for a long time. After feeling hunger, the state quickly gives way to a feeling of glut after a small portion of food. The supine position and certain turns of the body increase the feeling of oversaturation.

Of the non-specific symptoms of the patient, symptoms of a neuropsychic nature are disturbing: increased irritability, malaise, pain in the head and heart area.

Enzymatic

Low enzymatic activity on the part of the stomach, pancreas, duodenum and other parts of the small intestine, liver cause dyspepsia of this type. Inflammatory processes in the organs of the digestive system, neoplasms in the gallbladder and deformation of the ducts contribute to the occurrence of enzymatic dyspepsia. The appetite begins to decrease, the taste of metal is felt in the mouth, the number of bowel movements is increased up to 5 times a day. The patient may feel periodic pain in the epigastric region due to temporary spasms, flatulence and excessive gas separation. The patient’s well-being is unimportant: fatigue, “cast-iron head”, malaise.

Fermentative

Dyspepsia develops with an abundance of foods with a high content of carbohydrates (bakery products, pasta, sweets), legumes, cabbage and drinks that cause fermentation (beer, kvass). Patients suffer from bloating and excessive gas removal. Defecation events are frequent, feces are light brown in color, foams, has a sour smell. Chemical analysis of feces shows a high concentration of starch, fiber, carboxylic acids. Bacteriological analysis of feces shows an increased content of fermentation bacteria.

Putrefactive

Putrefied dyspepsia develops with prolonged, plentiful consumption of protein products. Pork or lamb proteins are especially difficult to digest. With some types of diets (Kremlin), when fats and fast carbohydrates are excluded from food, this type of dyspepsia begins to progress over time. The chair has a liquid consistency, dark, there is a smell of ammonia. Symptoms of general intoxication are also noted: malaise, fatigue, drowsiness and decreased performance.

Soap dyspepsia

With soap dyspepsia, a large amount of fat that is difficult to absorb by the body (lamb, pork, ducklings) enters the digestive tract. Feces have a light color, with a greasy-like luster, frequent. Chemical analysis shows a neutral (less commonly alkaline) environment, a large amount of fats, carboxylic acids and their salts, called soaps.

Why does indigestion occur?

Indigestion appears when food is poorly processed by digestive enzymes and enters the next section with another set of digestive enzymes. Functional dyspepsia does not cause pathological changes on the part of cells and tissues. If the effect of the factor is long-lasting, then dyspepsia grows from functional to organic, in which it is the basis for the progress of a number of pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract.

Long-term food in the stomach, not being digested to the end, causes an increase in the number of rotting bacteria and other pathogenic microflora. Pathogenic microorganisms emit toxic chemicals, which causes the development of many diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. In addition to bacterial toxins, indigestible proteins begin to rot with the release of indole, skatol, phenol, as well as cadaveric toxins - putrescine and cadaverine.

Triggering factors can trigger the mechanism of insufficient digestion of food:

  • protracted psycho-emotional stress,
  • excess and unbalanced nutrition,
  • intestinal and gastric motility disorders,
  • insufficient secretion of digestive enzymes,
  • taking medications that inhibit enzymatic activity in the digestive system,
  • excess secretion of hydrochloric acid,
  • adverse physical environmental factors: high temperature, pressure, vibration loads,
  • alcohol abuse and smoking,
  • the presence of the pathogenic bacterium Helicobacter pylori and its active activity.

Dyspepsia Disorders

If there is no concomitant disease with a functional disorder and only the cause of the formed symptom should be treated, then organic dyspepsia can occur with the following diseases:

  • disorders of mineral metabolism in the body,
  • hypothyroid and thyrotoxic state,
  • benign and malignant neoplasms in the stomach, pancreas and intestines,
  • gastroduodenal reflux,
  • hepatic pathologies,
  • diabetes
  • pathologies of the formation of connective tissue structures,
  • chemical, bacteriological and alcohol toxicosis,
  • malabsorption syndrome,
  • cholecystitis
  • gastritis and ulcers of the stomach and duodenum,
  • malformations in blood vessels,
  • chronic pancreatitis,
  • other malabsorption in the stomach and intestines.

How is dyspepsia detected?

Diagnosis of dyspepsia must be differentiated. If the anamnesis, palpation and other methods of non-instrumental exposure are insufficient, a determination mechanism is connected using technical means. In case of complaints, the doctor asks the patient about all the symptoms to determine the nature of the pathology. If functional, the patient denies the following symptoms:

  • frequent or constant pain over the last 3-4 months in the epigastric region during the year,
  • defecation frequency for a specified period of time has changed,
  • after the act of defecation, no relief is felt.

If, together with the indicated results of ultrasound or gastroduodenoscopy, the presence of pathology is not detected, organic dyspepsia is excluded. In a clear differentiation of the nature of the pathological phenomenon, modern instrumental techniques are used:

  1. Fibrogastroduodenoscopy, coupled with cell sampling for histological analysis. This eliminates tumors in the digestive system.
  2. Ultrasound of the abdominal region and thyroid gland. Eliminates inflammation and the formation of tumors.
  3. Bacteriological analysis for the detection of Helicobacter pylori.
  4. General blood test with the detection of anemia and inflammatory phenomena in the body.
  5. Extragastric pH measurement.
  6. Coprological analysis to identify the content of blood cells in the stool.
  7. Methods for the study of peristalsis of the stomach and intestines:
    1. investigation of the rate of gastric emptying using ultrasound,
    2. breath test using caprylic acid with a labeled carbon atom (13-C).

Doctor

The first symptoms of dyspepsia should be addressed with a therapist, since the organic nature of the pathology will reveal a more serious disease (perhaps not one), which is better to treat in advance. If necessary, consultation and participation in the treatment of an oncologist or gastroenterologist will be required.

An immediate appeal to the doctor should follow after the appearance, in addition to indigestion, of problems with swallowing food (dysphagia), which has become more frequent during several days of vomiting with blood in the vomit, a sharp weight loss of the patient, pallor of his skin, worsening of the results of blood and feces.

Over 45 years of age is considered mandatory when symptoms of indigestion are detected. If in practice there was a first appeal to a family doctor, begin the examination with his consultation. In the absence of a family doctor, they turn to a general practitioner.

Pathology treatment

Before prescribing treatment, the patient should discuss with the doctor diet options based on the state of health in general, age and the presence (absence) of other somatic diseases. The treatment regimen is developed in accordance with the type of dyspepsia detected.

If organic digestive disorders are not detected, the doctor prescribes prokinetics that promote better promotion of food along the digestive tract. If an ulcer or gastritis is found during dyspepsia, antibacterial therapy will be required to destroy Helicobacter pylori, the consumption of antacids and drugs that reduce the secretory function of the stomach. Putrid, soapy and fermentative dyspepsia are treated by eliminating the cause of its occurrence. With soap, they limit the consumption of fats, fermentation - they reduce the intake of carbohydrates and increase the diet of protein foods. The putrid type will require a decrease in the inclusion of proteins in the diet.

If an enzymatic type of pathology is detected, substitution therapy with digestive enzymes is carried out: Pancreatin, Mezim, etc.

Normalization of digestion is promoted by medicinal plants. It is better to use a gastrointestinal collection of herbs containing a set of digestive enzymes.

First aid and treatment in children

If a one-year-old child has a “become” stomach, you should consult a pediatrician. Self-medication can significantly worsen the condition of the baby and lead to complications.

At the first sign of infection, it is important to start soldering the child off with clean water, tea, and Regidron or Humana electrolyte solutions. To remove toxins from the digestive tract, sorbents are used (Smecta, Polysorb). In addition, it is important to follow a sparing diet.

If the infant regurgitates more often, the mother must reconsider her diet. In case of artificial feeding, antireflux or sour-milk mixtures can help.

How to start the stomach

If the cause of complaints is overeating, eating poor-quality food, treatment is possible at home. In the event that the feeling that the stomach is standing appears constantly, you should go to the hospital. The doctor will prescribe a comprehensive examination to determine the root cause.

What to do if the stomach becomes:

  • temporarily exclude from the diet fried, greasy, smoked, spicy dishes,
  • increase fluid intake
  • antispasmodics and normotonics can help (No-shpa, Duspatalin),
  • with the infectious process, sorbents and antibiotics of the penicillin, cephalosporin series are used,
  • with gastritis, ulcers use antibiotics, antacids and diet,
  • in some cases, enzymes (Pancreatin, Mezim) have a positive effect.

Folk recipes

Home treatment recipes are used to eliminate the main unpleasant symptoms of nausea, increase appetite, normalize gastric motility:

  1. Oregano is poured with boiling water, infused for about half an hour, the infusion should be drunk 20 mg per day, divided into two doses.
  2. A teaspoon of milk thistle herb before a meal, washed down with clean water.
  3. Mix the root of the marshmallow ordinary with the fruits of fennel, pour boiling water (in a ratio of 1: 1). Insist half an hour, drink a glass after a meal.

Therapeutic gymnastics is performed with a decrease in pain, in the absence of signs of intoxication:

  1. Exercise "bike."
  2. Exercise "birch" should be done with the inclination of the legs behind the head.
  3. Bending the knees while lying on your back.

The diet helps to remove the main symptoms of the disease and start the organ:

  • temporarily limit the use of fatty meat, spicy dishes, spices, semi-finished products, dairy products,
  • eat every 3 hours in small portions,
  • stop drinking sweet soda, alcohol,
  • chew food thoroughly, do not eat later than 3-4 hours before bedtime.

It is not so easy to relieve symptoms and restore health to the digestive system if atony is based on a pathological process. Only a gastroenterologist can tell you exactly what to do to increase the tone of the organ, so as not to harm it even more.

In acute pathology, with proper treatment, restoration of motor function occurs quickly enough. If the patient has a history of chronic gastritis or peptic ulcer, it is recommended to constantly adhere to clinical nutrition, undergo preventive treatment twice a year.

In older people, organs and systems are gradually "depleted", therefore, "indigestion" of food is not a rare complaint for them. However, it is important to exclude organic pathology or swelling of the stomach.

Why does the stomach not work?

Finding the source of a problem that upsets the physiological process of the stomach is actually easy. We are talking about the main reason that leads to a stop of the stomach, - improper nutrition. The abuse of "harmful" products, unbalanced, poor-quality food is the basis for disruption of not only the stomach, but also the organs of the gastrointestinal tract. More prone to this pathology are people prone to overeating and lovers to eat at night.

A fast pace of life is the second reason that upsets the stomach. Eating on the go does not allow you to thoroughly chew food. The stomach overflowing with large pieces of food does not cope well and this leads to periodic troubles. There are less common causes:

  • sudden weight loss
  • smoking,
  • nervous exhaustion
  • fatigue,
  • diseases of the oral cavity.

Manifestation of state

Abdominal pain should alert the person.

How to understand that the stomach has stopped working? When the following symptoms appear, a person needs to be wary:

  • stomach ache,
  • fast saturation,
  • loss of appetite,
  • air outlet through the mouth in small portions,
  • bloating
  • nausea,
  • lump in stomach
  • fever
  • constipation, as a sure indicator of a violation of the functions of the gastrointestinal tract.

Recognizing the problem in the child is quite easy - the symptoms are immediately apparent. The baby is constantly crying and refuses to eat. At the first signs, it is necessary to lay the baby on one side, asking him to bend his knees. You can put a warm heating pad on your stomach and leave it in this position for a while. After 15-20 minutes, the child needs to give a couple of sips of water and stroke the stomach in the navel in a clockwise direction.

If your baby is nauseous, try to provoke vomiting. You can’t feed, but an hour after the attack, tea is allowed. Food is introduced gradually into the diet.

If a similar problem in a baby often recurs, it is necessary to reconsider the nutrition. Exclude from the diet foods that cause indigestion, pain and be sure to consult a doctor. The specialist will write down recommendations: a medicine, herbs for pain relief and normalization of organ functions. It is important to remember that treating a child is different from adult therapy. Do not give those drugs that are suitable for you with the same problem. A child's body can respond to them in a completely different way.

In an adult

For nausea, tablets should be taken to regulate the condition.

If the stomach has stopped in an adult, therapy consists of taking the drug and diet therapy. If you feel sick, you should take pills to resolve the condition. They help the stomach to earn by restoring muscle tone and restoring proper movement from the esophagus to the intestines. When using intoxication products, it is recommended to take absorbent drugs ("White Coal").

The next step is to establish the right meal. In the acute phase, food should be completely abandoned. On the following days, servings should be small, with meals every 2 hours. Gradually, the amount of servings increases.

In pregnant

The pregnancy period is characterized by new sensations in the expectant mother - she feels sick, feeling that the food has lumped in her stomach. Constipation often worries women even with proper nutrition. The way out in this situation is to eat often in small portions.Attention should be focused on dietary products. If the regulation of nutrition during pregnancy did not help to cope with the problem, the symptoms become pronounced, it is necessary to consult a gastroenterologist. Pills "Festal", "Gevixon", "Pancreatin" - medicines that create a favorable environment for the stomach to work.

Pregnancy is a period when a woman is responsible not only for her health, but also for the baby’s health. If you can’t remove the discomfort, call an ambulance. Sometimes, such phenomena indicate serious complications in the functioning of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract.

How to start at home after poisoning?

It is difficult to warn yourself against sudden food poisoning. Nausea, vomiting, belching, diarrhea, temperature knock a person out of the usual life rut. And after poisoning, you need to force the intestines and stomach to perform their functions.

If the disease was mild, and you coped with it at home, in order to get a stomach, you must first go on a diet. The affected mucosa can not cope with the production of gastric juice. Acidity decreases, which can cause an inflammatory process.

Acid-salt balance after vomiting will help restore pharmaceutical preparations.

In the acute period of poisoning from food, it is better to refuse completely. Pharmaceutical preparations (Regidron, Smecta) will help to restore the acid-salt balance after vomiting, and only rice or oatmeal porridge in water will be gradually introduced. The first week is a period of strict observance of the principles of healthy eating:

  • in small portions 5-6 times a day,
  • with plenty of water (mineral water helps restore).

In addition to cereals, the following are allowed:

  • potatoes (without oil),
  • boiled fish
  • baked apples, bananas,
  • cottage cheese.

After 7 days of the diet, boiled meat and kefir are introduced into the diet. To make the body easier to cope with the current situation, a medicine can help. Enzymes will help improve digestion and restore bowel function. Tablets "Creon", "Pancreatinum" 1-2 pieces are taken every time after a meal. But if the condition does not improve, it hurts, the stomach is bursting with air, consult a doctor. It is possible that the effects of poisoning are much stronger than you think.

The rules of nutrition if the stomach is up

Since problems with the digestive organ are caused by food and a nutritional failure, a properly regulated diet will help to prevent the stomach from rising:

  • furnished comfortable, quiet dining place,
  • moving away from the table with a slight feeling of hunger,
  • holding an unloading day once a week,
  • the inclusion in the menu of a sufficient amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs,
  • the use of not hot prepared meals.

Do you often have to “bite” a hearty meal by Mezim and other drugs to improve digestion? Most likely, enough, especially when it comes to a festive feast. Of course, such funds activate the digestion process well, but their effect is one-off. Next, we will consider what folk remedies can help your own digestive system.

  • Why stomach ache, or causes of poor digestion
  • The main manifestations of the problem
  • How to help your digestive tract?

Why stomach ache, or causes of poor digestion

  1. Regular consumption of food, which is usually called useless. We are talking about fried and fatty dishes, a variety of sweets, smoked meats, pickles and more. Note that here we are talking about excessive consumption of such food, which is a strong stress for the digestive system and can lead to long-term malfunctions of the digestion process.
  2. Constant overeating. Oddly enough, even eating healthy at first glance food in abnormal amounts can cause big problems.
  3. Insufficiently thorough chewing of food, which is an indispensable companion of food on the go and dry. Chewing is one of the most important stages of eating food. Being insufficiently high-quality and thorough, it provokes a significant deterioration in digestion and reduces the effectiveness of all other processes. Agree, because it’s much easier for our gastrointestinal tract to “process” pieces of food that are already crushed and mixed with saliva.
  4. Late dinners. Our body is designed in such a way that all biological processes, including the digestive one, slow down by the end of the day.
  5. Drinking too much for food. All doctors and nutritionists strongly recommend drinking as much fluid as possible per day. But, pay attention, they advise you to do this between meals, but in no case during them. The fact is that if you drink too much during meals, the liquid dilutes substances such as digestive enzymes, bile, and hydrochloric acid, which are responsible for the “processing” of food that has been ingested.

As you can see, in most cases we ourselves provoke a problem. However, digestion failures and its deterioration can occur for reasons beyond the control of nutrition. For example, it can be constant stress, the use of certain drugs, food allergies, as well as chronic ailments of the gastrointestinal tract.

The main manifestations of the problem

  • Constant fatigue and drowsiness. So the lack of energy that arises as a result of insufficient absorption of food makes itself felt. The latter, for the most part, remains in the intestine and, accordingly, beneficial substances from it are not transported together with the blood stream to the cells.
  • Poor condition of skin, hair, teeth nails. Such alarming symptoms are manifestations of a lack of vitamins and various minerals that enter our body with food.
  • Disruption of intestinal activity, signaling itself with constipation, diarrhea, nausea and other unpleasant symptoms.
  • Discomfort in the abdomen. Do you know the expression "revolution in the stomach"? If your digestion process is disturbed, get ready for the fact that you will constantly be tormented by bloating, heartburn, belching, flatulence and other manifestations of an accumulation of excess gas in the stomach.

Folk remedies for improving digestion

A very effective folk remedy is celery root. A few grams of the crushed substance should be poured with a liter of water, left to infuse overnight, then strain and take three times a day in a spoon. In addition, it improves digestion and decoction from the seeds of the plant, as well as fresh juice squeezed from its root. As you know, red wine also “triggers” the digestive process. Want to make sure of this? Mix two parts of honey and red wine with one part chopped with a meat grinder or a very finely chopped aloe leaf. Take the composition before each meal for an hour.

Do not forget about medicinal herbs, in particular, plantain leaves, goose cinquefoil and knotweed, which need to be poured with boiling water and insisted for about half an hour. Another very effective infusion is prepared from the root, as well as the rhizomes of valerian, peppermint, chamomile and calendula, mixed in equal proportions, brewed with boiling water and carefully filtered.
