Apple Wireless Keyboard, Mouse, and Trackpad: Installing Batteries

Apple Magic Mouse Battery Replacement

Apple Magic Mouse comes with two installed
AA batteries. They can be replaced with alkaline, lithium or battery
AA batteries.

Keep the battery cover and battery out of the reach of small children.

To replace the batteries of the Apple Magic Mouse, do the following:

To replace the Apple Wireless Mouse batteries, follow these steps:

  1. Turn the mouse on and off.
  2. Remove the battery cover and insert two AA batteries. When installing the batteries, observe the polarity (see the figure below).
  3. Replace the battery cover.

Apple Wireless Keyboard (2009)

Note. This keyboard requires two (2) AA batteries.

  1. Turn off the keyboard.
  2. Using a coin, remove the battery cover.
  3. Insert two AA batteries into the battery compartment. When installing batteries, observe the polarity.
  4. Replace the battery cover.
  5. Turn on the keyboard.

Trackpad Apple Magic Trackpad

Note. This device requires two (2) AA batteries.

  1. Turn off the trackpad.
  2. Using a coin, remove the battery cover.
  3. Insert the batteries into the compartment as shown below.

Important! When installing batteries, observe the polarity as shown above. The trackpad will not turn on if the batteries are installed incorrectly.

Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse

Note. This mouse requires two (2) AA batteries.

  1. Turn the mouse on and off.
  2. Remove the battery cover.
  3. Insert the batteries into the compartment as shown above. When installing batteries, observe the polarity as shown. The mouse will not turn on if the batteries are installed incorrectly.
  4. Replace the battery cover.
  5. Turn on the mouse.

Apple Wireless Keyboard (2007)

Note. This keyboard requires three (3) AA batteries.

  1. Turn off the keyboard.
  2. Using a coin, remove the battery cover.

Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. When installing batteries in the keyboard, observe the polarity as shown. The keyboard will not turn on if the batteries are installed incorrectly.

    Apple Wireless Mouse

    Note. This mouse requires two (2) AA batteries.

    1. Turn the mouse on and off.
    2. Remove the battery cover.
    3. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. When installing batteries, observe the polarity as shown. The mouse will not turn on if the batteries are installed incorrectly.
    4. Replace the battery cover.
    5. Turn on the mouse if you are ready to use it.

    White Extended Apple Wireless Keyboard

    Note. This keyboard requires four (4) AA batteries.

    1. Turn the keyboard on and off.
    2. Remove the battery cover and remove the batteries.
    3. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. When installing batteries in the keyboard, observe the polarity as shown. The keyboard will not turn on if the batteries are installed incorrectly.
    4. Replace the battery cover.
    5. Turn on the keyboard.

    Types of batteries

    Apple wireless devices come with AA batteries installed. These batteries can be replaced with alkaline, lithium or rechargeable AA batteries.

    Attention! Do not mix different types of batteries (for example, alkaline and lithium batteries), as well as old and new batteries. Batteries must not be opened, punctured, installed with the opposite polarity, thrown into fire or water, or exposed to high temperatures. Do not charge non-rechargeable AA batteries. Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Replace or charge all batteries at once.

    Important! Dispose of batteries in accordance with local environmental laws.

    Long term storage

    In the event of inactivity, Apple wireless devices go into sleep mode to conserve battery power. If you do not plan to use the wireless device for a long time, turn it off. If you do not plan to use the wireless device for more than three weeks, remove the batteries for long-term storage.
