Cooking Herbal Oils

Hello my dear readers!

Today I want to share with you recipes from my home medicine cabinet. I will tell you how to cook herbal oil at home.

Two simple ways that you can repeat in your kitchen without much difficulty.

Such oil can be used both for healing the body, and in caring for your appearance☺

Infused Herbal Oils - Recipes

You can make herbal oils (macerates) from any herbs, especially those that have pleasant aromas.

For example, medicinal plants with fresh “fruit” odors are suitable for these purposes:

You can take marigolds, viola, chamomile, violet, St. John's wort and other plants.

Raw materials should be previously slightly dried and crushed, it is not recommended to take fresh grass for these purposes.

How can I use infused herbal oil?

There are a lot of ways to use it, here are some of them:

  • Herbal oil can be mixed with sea salt and used as bath salt
  • Apply as massage oil
  • Add in the preparation of home cosmetics, lip balms, creams, soaps
  • Apply externally to the skin of the face and body
  • To eat
  • Use as a base oil for dissolving essential oils

Shelf life and storage conditions

Infused oils are stored from 6 months to 1 year. Store oil in a dark and cool place.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in cooking oils on herbs, just try and you will always have a jar of valuable aromatic “nectar” at your place.

I use these oils for sunburn, cracks in the lips and feet, add to hair masks, dress them with salads and much, much more.

I just love them их and I recommend everyone to try cooking.

I would be glad if you supplement this article with your comments and useful tips. And how do you insist on herbs? Tell ☺

With you was Alena Yasneva, bye everyone!

What are herbal oils?

We often see expensive: rose oil, sea buckthorn, lavender, burdock oil and so on? What it is? After all, it is not from a rose or lavender that oils are not made in the traditional sense, how are they then produced?

In fact, everything is simple: in fact, it is not oil, but infusions of herbs, flowers or fruits in oil, most often in ordinary vegetable or olive.

The benefits of oils from natural plants are diverse, and they also have a minimum of contraindications, this is their main advantage.

The desire of most manufacturers to save on customers leads to the fact that the base in the sold oils often comes with ordinary sunflower oil and refined so that it does not smell, but instead of insisting on herbs for a long time, they often just put perfume instead of herbs and all the herbal oil is ready! So if you’re not sure about the manufacturer, do not be lazy and prepare herbal oil yourself. In our store there is a manufacturer Tradition who is just engaged in the production of oils, yes they make oils of very good quality, but believe us, at home, you can do better for yourself.

The purpose of this material is not to write recipes, but to make clear the principle of preparation, the recipes here are just for example.

Essentials for Herbal Oils

  • Olive - the most suitable for insisting herbs,
  • Sunflower - it is easier and cheaper to make herbal infusion from it
  • Flaxseed - well suited for infusions from digestive problems,
  • Sesame - it is better to use in infusions for nourishing the hair, and if used internally, to eliminate problems with the cardiovascular system,
  • Soya - is also used for the preparation of oil infusions, as an alternative to sunflower,
  • Mustard - perfect for preparing rasters from all kinds of inflammation of the skin and joints, has high bactericidal properties,
  • Castor oil in itself is often used in cosmetology, and if you add herbs there, you will generally get an irreplaceable thing, for example, burdock oil infused with castor oil, in our opinion, is the most effective for hair.

These are not all types of oils - try, experiment, the main thing is that there would be no allergy. When creating a new recipe, they are usually guided by the healing properties of the oil, its contraindications and plants that are similar in action are selected to enhance the final effect.
