Conditions for the delivery of rabbits for meat. All rabbit processing enterprises accept from collective and state farms, state and cooperative enterprises of rabbits. On individual days, rabbit pick-up points of the consumer union are accepted from individual rabbit feeders. Acceptance points, number of rabbits and terms (schedule) of their delivery-purchase are determined by contract agreements.
Animals allocated for surrender are weighed at the farm no earlier than 3 h after the last feeding or watering. For each batch of rabbits, the vendors submit: a veterinary certificate or a certificate of veterinary supervision in the prescribed form, a weight sheet with the number of goals, live weight and fatness in it, a travel journal (when sending rabbits by rail), which indicate the route of transportation, the amount of feed, inventory and equipment issued on the route of rabbits.
Fatness of rabbits is determined during weighing. According to the requirements of GOST 7686 - 55 "Rabbits for slaughter" animals according to the degree of fatness are divided into two categories:
the first includes rabbits with well-developed muscular touch, the spinous processes of the dorsal vertebrae are palpated weakly and do not protrude, the back and hips are well-made and rounded; subcutaneous fat deposits in the form of thickened stripes are easily felt on the withers, stomach, and groin area, located along the length of the body,
the second - they include rabbits with satisfactory muscular development to the touch, the spinous processes of the dorsal vertebrae are palpable easily and protrude slightly, the hips are tightened, flat, the back is not made enough, fat deposits may not be felt.
Animals that do not meet the requirements of the second category are classified as skinny.
In controversial cases, to determine the category of fatness of rabbits, a control slaughter is carried out no later than the next day of the work of the procurement enterprise in the presence of a deliverer, about which he is informed in a timely manner.
The fatness of live rabbits, aimed at control slaughter, is established after slaughter according to the actual fatness of the carcass, determined in accordance with applicable specifications.
Disagreements on determining the nutritional status of disputed animals are solved by slaughtering them, and when large batches are delivered, 10% of the disputed livestock.
The slaughter condition of rabbits affects the fat content in their carcasses. In the carcasses of the first category of fatness, the fat contains almost 2 times more than in the carcasses of the second category.
Slaughter rabbits must be healthy, with clean hair, and not have traumatic injuries.
Not allowed to surrender rabbits from the second half of succession.
Transportation of rabbits. Animals are transported by horse, road, rail and water transport in cages. The accompanying person is given the necessary documents, he is informed about the veterinary rules for transporting animals.
The cell measures 100 × 90 × 30 cm, it is divided by mesh partitions along the length and width into ten individual sections having hinged doors.
When transported by road, cages with rabbits are placed in four to five tiers with the aft side out and covered with a tarpaulin from above and from the leeward side.
By rail, animals in cages are transported in freight wagons or intended for livestock (clean and pre-disinfected). In summer, transportation over short distances in covered wagons equipped with special grilles is allowed. Cells are arranged in rows of several tiers that hold fast. The placement of cells in the car is as follows: the first row of cells is placed along one longitudinal wall, the second is along the other longitudinal wall, two more rows of cells are placed in the middle of the car with back walls to each other, between the rows leave a passage about 1 wide m. The hatches of the car, fenced with bars, on the one hand leave open.
The conductor, upon arrival of the carriage with the rabbits at the destination station, notifies the consignee of the goods, who must immediately unload the rabbits.
Overloading of animals on the way at the initiative of the railway is carried out at its expense.
On water, animals in cages are transported on specially equipped ships and barges.

Upon arrival of the rabbits at the place of delivery, the receiver must indicate in the weighting sheet the time of arrival, as well as the time of the end of the acceptance. When receiving, from the actual live weight of animals, 3% is thrown off on the contents of the gastrointestinal tract, and from the live weight of animals delivered by road to a distance of 50-100 Km, - 1.5%. We accept animals transported to a distance of over 100 without a discount Km. For every hour of delayed reception over 2 h 3% discount is reduced by 0.5%. The time of arrival of rabbits is considered (when delivered by road) the time of delivery to the enterprise or reception point, when delivered by rail - the time of delivery of the cars for unloading, the time of completion of acceptance - the completion of weighing. Animals delivered by car and horse-drawn transport are accepted on the day of arrival, if they arrived no later than 1 h until the end of the working day, by rail - during the day.
